Pedal boats also known as pedalo boats, are a great way to spend some time on the water. Whether you’re looking to get some exercise or just relax, our pedalos are perfect for all ages!
You may be wondering: “How do I ride this thing?” Well, it’s easy! Just sit down and start pedaling. The pedalo boat will move forward, and you can steer by turning the rudder. (Don’t worry—we provide an instructor who will show you how!)
We highly recommend pedal boats for anybody new to water sports, is apprehensive about the water, or is simply looking for a low-stress, relaxing time on the lake!
These pedalo boats are almost impossible to capsize, which makes them a great choice for beginners. In addition, they are exceedingly easy to operate. If you know how to ride a bicycle, you already have the skills necessary to run a pedal boat. Their motion is controlled by pedaling in either way, so they may travel either forward or backward. The boat’s stern rudder is controlled by a steering lever in the centre of the vessel.
The Lagoon Activity Centre in Rosscarbery is sheltered, making the water relatively tranquil and it is only 3 feet deep in most places (does not apply to waterpark).

Pedalos are available for rent during daylight hours, and we have a variety of pedal boats to choose from. We have a pedalo boat that can hold up to 4 people, so bring your friends and family along for the ride!

My kids and I visited today and had a brilliant time. We tried the kayaks, the pedalboats and finished up on the inflatable water park - it was so much fun! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the pizza was delicious. A great day out, thanks!!
Great day out for both adults and kids, any foot protection would be welcome, as you wouldn't notice the sore feet during the activity but definitely afterwards lol... ( Well worth it tho ☺️☺️).....
It’s my third time in the Lagoona and it never disappoints. I came to do SUP and it was very enjoyable. Prices are also reasonable. Beautiful setting and so many other things to do around
Great family day out. The centre is run very well. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We've done a few of these water activities and this one is by far out favourite. You take a short boat ride out to it which was very exciting for the kids also. Toilet facilities are very clean and plenty of hand sanitizer. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. We'll definitely be returning. Would highly recommend. Our kids are 13 and 11.

Kids and hubbie had a ball. Wetsuits optional, all wore life jackets and everyone seemed to enjoy. A little boat brings you from the pier to the feature in the lagoon. Life guard supervised also. Great spot. Would return
A win win for parents and teenagers … Having two teenagers who are reluctant to go on holidays with their parents is a challenge but we could not recommend the Lagoon Activity Centre more - 1st day did water park and we were back a second day to race parents in kayaks across the
Booked for family of 4 as part of our holiday in West Cork and Paul the manager was very accommodating when we had a problem with the time we booked. We had great fun on the inflatables…kids loved the slide and the hamster wheel! There are lovely warm showers after too. Staff were great. We had previously been as a few times and and we will definitely be back again…it doesn’t get old!
Great craic, I went with my 9 year old son. Wrecked afterwards but definitely worth it. Looking forward to doing it again.

We had a fantastic day with our three chikdren at the floating water park...even our 16 year old enjoyed it. Even the rain couldnt dampen the experience and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend wearing aqua shoes as it can be shallow and stony underfoot.
This was such a fun day out for adults AND kids. We kayaked, SUPd, and went on the activity park. They have a great set up, and great staff
Staff were so helpful and friendly. Boys were aged between 9 and 11 years in our group. They truly enjoyed every minute. Only complaint they had was they wanted more time for their session. Highly recommended!!!
Fantastic activity centre kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Great fun plenty of exercise. Staff were friendly and helpful today especially Dylan with welcome and wetsuits etc. Recommend it highly kids of all ages will love it. Will be back again.

Absolutely blown away by my experience at the Lagoon. Staff were exceptional and went above and beyond my expectations. The lads doing the lifejackets and wetsuits were so friendly and professional. The waterpark itself was great craic and all my group had a ball. The whole set
Great place for both adults and children, wetsuit available if you done bring your own, life jackets also, the lagoon is on about 3/4 foot deep so safe for all type of swimmers, water is salty (seems maybe dirty and stagnant to me but I'm no water expert). Big area for running around on and plenty of obstacles to tackle and then the slides

Great place during the summer when the water park is there they allso have kenewing peddle boats and paddle surfing and a small shop that sells ice-cream and other stuff.
Book early. Always a hoot. For all ages! I'm early 50s and go with the teenagers every summer. The new pyramid is a testing climb but worth it. I started with this and got the wetting out of the way early on! Could do with clearing out of the pond scum which accumulates in two

Fun facilities and a lovely relaxed atmosphere at the centre. Very friendly staff at the centre base. Aqua park was fun but very daunting. Be prepared for essentially a slippery bouncy castle. Those in charge of the Aquapark we very unhelpful, bordering on rude. Myself and others were the ones pulling the dingy closer to the inflatable to help people on and off while they looked on. No positive interaction, just looked constantly bored by our existence and us possibly being in need of a hand. Nothing to wipe the very many cuts I witnessed on the way back. Those on shore were very helpful. Please remember that it is all of our first time on a wobbly, slippery inflatable in deep water that most of us are only on to keep out children happy. Our old bodies ache. It costs nothing to give us a fake smile and a hand onto wobbly polyethylene. In fact, it would go a really long way. You catch more flies with honey then with vinegar. Still had a great time though!
Absolutely enjoyed this activity centre, it's even great for those people who have a fear of water or can't swim, cos the water is only 3ft deep. So safe enough. Definitely go on this again, loads of fun to be had, in good weather and bad. Brilliant fun
Very well run adventure park.Theres a pretty big inflatable park with water slides, trampoline & obstacles which you get to by speed boat & overseen by lifeguards.There are also peddle boats,kayaking & paddle boards for hire.It has a small shop for drinks & sweets & they make homemade pizzas as well.Good COVID19 measures here & the toilets are spotless.There are a few benches outside & it's great for a picnic in the good weather.
Great fun, well run and very safe! Staff were very friendly. Facilities were good also. Even a picnic area and some crepes etc available there.

The Lagoon Activity Centre is ideally located in Rosscarbery, Co. Cork, just over an hour away from Cork City and around 2 hours from Limerick. Easily accessible by car and on a main bus route (230 bus from Cork City!) The Lagoon is a breeze to get to.

Yes, life jackets are provided to all participants who are using the pedal boats. Life jackets are essential safety gear and must be worn by everyone who participates in our offerings, regardless of their previous knowledge and/or experience.
The water is an average of 3 feet deep in the Lagoon (This does not include the depth of the water in the waterpark).
Typically speaking, a pedal boat can accommodate up to two small children and two adults.
Yes, any child under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 years and above), when pedal boating although the supervising adult can fit in a separate boat if they wish.
Our pedal boating activity is designed with beginners in mind, therefore, there is no need to purchase any water sports gear to avail of the pedalo boats. However, we have the following list of suggestions of things that you can bring to make the most of your session at the Lagoon Activity Centre.
- Sunscreen: Given our experience, we know the weather on the coast can be unpredictable. It’s highly recommended to apply sunscreen before using our pedal boats to protect yourself from harmful UV rays and prevent sunburn.
- Hat: Wearing a hat while pedal boating provides sun protection and shields your eyes from direct sunlight.
- Sunglasses: Sunglasses are essential for improving visibility, reducing eye strain caused by strong UV rays, and minimizing glare from the sea while using our pedal boats.
- Swimwear: A must-have for any water sports!!
Yes, we provide toilets, changing facilities, and well-needed hot showers to warm you up after your day’s adventure!
We do not provide lockers; however, your belongings can be stored in your car or our changing room facilities. If you have any particularly important belongings, such as keys, these items can be stored in the safety deposit box that is provided at the ticket desk.
